On Wednesday, Eagle Creek employees took the morning off work and volunteered at our local North County San Diego Community Food Bank. Working together, Creekers packed a total of 2280 lbs. Considering the food packed and the value of the time, this approximated to 5,000 meals; feeding a family of four for a full year.
All of this was done in just three hours! It’s incredible that we can help those who need it in such a short period of time. If you’re interested in finding out more about the North County Community Services or helping participate in the Holiday Food and Funds Drive, check this out.
Better yet, find a way to volunteer in your own backyard. Because if we’ve learned anything from this experience and others like it, it’s that grabbing a few friends, co-workers or family members to participate in a volunteer project may be the best gift you’ll get this holiday season.
We’d love to hear about volunteer projects you’ve participated in.
